A committee of Sun Valley residents supporting community living
Sun Valley is a neighborhood. The people who live here intend to keep it one.
Ninety-seven lots in the mountains above Elkton. Private roads, the national park on two sides. Most of the people here chose it on purpose.

What we mean by community living
It isn’t complicated and it isn’t nostalgia. It’s the ordinary things that happen when the same people live near each other for a long time.
- Knowing the cars on your road.
- Noticing when one sits in a driveway too long, or when it doesn’t.
- Watching a place while somebody travels.
- Picking up a limb that came down in the storm.
- Putting a package inside the door before it rains.
- Waving.
None of it is written down anywhere. It accumulates, slowly, and it is the difference between a road with houses on it and a neighborhood. It is also the kind of thing you don’t get back once it’s gone.
We are a group of owners who want Sun Valley to stay the kind of place people choose on purpose. We look after the road and the people on it, and we hold a clear position on short-term rentals here.
We are residents. We pay our own costs. We speak for ourselves.
