What we do
Neighbors for Neighbors is a volunteer committee of owners in Sun Valley. We are not an official body and we have no authority over anyone’s property. We’re neighbors who decided to do a few useful things.
Looking after the road
Sun Valley’s roads are private and the property owners association maintains them well. That doesn’t cover everything, though. Trash along the shoulder, limbs after a storm, brush creeping into the lane. We organize cleanups and we show up. When a limb comes down across the road, it’s the closest neighbor with a chainsaw who takes care of it.
In October a big tree came down across the road. Two of us cleared it, one ATV with a winch and two chainsaws, and the road was open that afternoon.
Looking after each other
After a bad storm or a long outage, somebody should check on the people who live alone or who have been here a long time. We try to be that somebody. If you’d like to be on the list of people who get checked on, or the list of people who do the checking, tell us.
Information worth having
Who plows. Who does tree work. Who to call about a well or a septic field. What to know about these roads in winter. New owners ask the same questions every time and there’s no good reason they should have to find out the hard way.
Welcoming new owners
If you bought here recently, we’d like to meet you. We aren’t selling anything.
Getting together
A neighborhood that never sees itself in one place stops being one. We’d like to fix that, starting small.
If you want to help with any of this, join us.
